Meet the Team
Christina Bächle
Christina’s love affair with Sicily dates to 2004, when she spent her first holiday touring the island. A Swiss travel agent by trade she completely fell in love with the destination, which was like nothing she had experienced before. A melting pot of cultures, history, beautiful landscapes, wonderful food and friendly locals, with the most amazing private accommodation, she felt destined to spread the word to others.
Over the past 15 years Christina’s villa business has grown in strength and Sicily4u now features more than 60 properties. Fluent in Italian, not least through speaking with her Italian relatives, her language proficiency and tourism background have enabled her to build trusting relationships with agencies and owners of villas and apartments. As well as paying regular visits to inspect Sicily4u properties, her continued enthusiasm for the island means she’s forever seeking new opportunities and experiences to share with her clients. When not on-island, Christina lives beside Lake Constance in Switzerland. Multi-lingual Christina speaks English, German, Italian and French.
Miriam
Miriam was born in Cologne, Germany, to German and Argentine parents. Her deep love for Sicily led her to move permanently to the island in 2012.With over thirty years of experience in the hospitality and restaurant industry, Miriam has developed a strong understanding of the needs, expectations, and desires of international travelers. Her background has shaped a service-oriented mindset focused on attention to detail, quality, and authentic guest experiences.Today, she brings this expertise to the world of hospitality, accompanying guests in discovering Sicily and ensuring that every stay is carefully curated, seamless, and truly memorable.Her ability to speakGerman, Italian, English, Spanish enables her to gain experience working with people from all over the world, something she is truly grateful for.
Lara Handjieff
Born and raised in Venice, Lara moved to Sicily in 1996 and has never looked back! With more than 16 years working for a specialist study abroad tour operator, Lara joined Sicily4u in 2019. She loves nothing better than sharing her knowledge of the destination, which is enriched through her various hobbies and passions including art, gastronomy, wine, reading, crafts, music and theatre. Lara speaks Italian, English and French.
